#HopeIsPower – Food Hampers for Lakehaven Children’s Home

The Lakehaven Child and Youth Care Centre is a registered organisation that aims to support the needs of 60 children between the ages of 6 to 18, who are abused, neglected and abandoned. All the children are placed at the centre through a court order and the organisation seeks to offer a stimulating and motivating environment to these children, in an effort to promote self-growth. The organisation also aims to ensure that the children are equipped with vital skills to become self-sufficient and positive leaders in the future.

The Team from Hollywoodbets visited the organisation on Monday, 26 July and gave food hampers, which formed part of the #HopeIsPower campaign. The hampers were generously given, as food security was found to be an immediate risk to the home. Hollywoodbets also expressed its desire to nurture a good relationship with the organisation and offer assistance and support in the coming days.

“These riots made it difficult to come to work and to get essentials to the home. Hollywoodbets has been absolutely wonderful! They have given us essential food items and PPE and hygiene products for the children. This means we can see to the needs of the children. On behalf of Lakehaven Child and Youth Care Centre, I want to say a big thank you to Hollywoodbets for the magnanimous donation. We really appreciate it and the children will love all of these items”,
