Hollywoodbets donated food parcels to the value of R42 000 to Gateway Church based in Umhlanga, KZN. Established in 2007, the church has devoted its outreach work to helping people in the surrounding communities of Inanda, Verulam, Phoenix, Kwamashu and Zwelisha in the Ethekwini district. This donation came about when the church reached out to Hollywoodbets for support in their mission to provide relief during this period to approximately 300 people and their families who are based in these communities.
The donation of the food parcels forms part of the company’s new “Brighter Future” project which sees the Hollywoodbets My Community Programme working with Nomzamo Mbatha’s Lighthouse Foundation. As part of this amazing venture R1 million in funding will go to 60 NPOs and NGOs across the country as part of the company’s COVID-19 pandemic relief plan.
Pastor M. Kirsten expressed his appreciation of the support on behalf of the church.

“Thank you, Hollywoodbets, for assisting us, the Gateway Church, to act as a pillar of hope and strength during these difficult times for disadvantaged people living in our surrounding communities. Your company’s generous donation will go so far in the lives of so many who need it most, and your kindness will not go unnoticed. Thank you again and God bless!”

Hollywoodbets KZN CSI Champion, Zandile Nembe, who was present at the handover, was deeply moved by this handover. “We are thrilled to be involved in this incredible initiative and to assist the Gateway Church like this. Their mission to help the people living on the outskirts of our city who have been suffering greatly due to COVID-19 is truly admirable, and we hope that our donation enables them to continue all their good work within these communities in the future.
