The AmaZulu Community Trust and Hollywood Foundation are proud to announce the return of the 2024 Siyakhula Cup under-15 tournament. This year’s edition which takes place on 16 and 17 November at the Hollywoodbets Kings Park Outer Fields promises to be bigger and better than ever before, featuring boys, girls, and schools’ editions all held in one venue.
With CAF now heavily invested in under-15 school football, the Siyakhula Cup becomes the larger platform that prepares players for the continental showpiece. The South African Football Association (SAFA) now has a tournament they can target for national team selection.
Bukelani Mthembu from AmaZulu Community Trust has been involved since the beginning of this partnership. He said, “At AmaZulu Community Trust, we pride ourselves on the development of young players. The Siyakhula Cup gives us the perfect opportunity to closely observe the talent that is out there. We are grateful to our sponsors, Hollywood Foundation, for believing in our development project.”
Aligned with this commitment, the Hollywood Foundation is devoted to grassroots football. Through the Siyakhula Cup, it aims to drive development and uncover emerging talent. This tournament provides a valuable platform for young players to excel and develop their skills, perfectly fitting the Foundation’s mission to nurture future sports stars.
More than just a competition, the Hollywood Foundation Siyakhula Cup provides young athletes with opportunities to grow, benefiting from holistic support that encourages both talent and team pride. Menzi Ngcobo, Senior Sponsorship Coordinator at the Hollywood Group, said, “Through tournaments like the Siyakhula Cup, we’re opening doors to endless possibilities for aspiring footballers, especially those in under-resourced communities. Our mission is to provide these athletes with the tools they need to succeed and to strengthen the sporting spirit within our communities.”
By investing in young athletes and offering structured development pathways, the Hollywood Foundation ensures that grassroots sports remain a vital part of South Africa’s sporting culture, paving the way for future success.
The team draw and media launch will be held on Wednesday, 13 November, at Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium, Media Conference Centre, Level 2 at 13:00 pm.
