This organisation first opened its doors 30 years ago in 1990. Peace Haven is a centre that cares for the senior citizens of the local community on a daily basis. The primary objective of the centre is to ensure that their senior citizens live the rest of their lives in a meaningful and comfortable way.
The Hollywoodbets Waterkant Team received a proposal from the centre along with a wish list outlining which items they have need of. This is when the Team decided that they were the right centre to help out. A donation of blankets, a sewing machine, overlocker and a DVD player were made in aid of Peace Haven.
Angeline Linders, Fundraiser at the centre, was very appreciative of the thoughtful donation.
“The beneficiaries will now have additional activities to keep them busy. We are also hoping to create products that we can sell, thereby assisting the charity to be more self-sustainable,” she said.
