With many women taking charge of their lives and starting their own businesses, they need all the support they can get. In August, as part of the Women’ Month celebrations, the Hollywood Foundation partnered with starlet Nomzamo Mbatha’s Lighthouse Foundation for the Women in Business Awards, which shone a spotlight on female-owned businesses throughout South Africa. This was part of the annual #EmpoweringHER campaign which honours women who are making a positive impact in various communities.
This campaign is run by the ESD Team and it affords women-owned businesses a platform to grow, transform and improve their operations that contribute towards the economy. Limtech Multi Services was one of the businesses that received funding through this campaign.
The Gauteng-based business, owned by Lindiwe Nqinata, offers technical and electrical services, security systems, networking, air conditioning and plumbing. The business had been operating on a small scale and with limited resources but following assistance from the campaign and support from the ESD Team, the business received funding to purchase equipment which helped in its growth.
Lindiwe explained that this contribution to Limtech Multi Services has made a huge impact in a way that it boosts their confidence to excel in the job. She said she would like to see the business grow and be able to sustain itself.
