Durban Ladies Women’s Football Club was founded in February 1990 by Mary-Jane Sokhela. The team is based in eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal, and plays its home games at King Zwelithini Stadium. The Club participated in the Women’s Month campaign in August and was happy to make a difference in the lives of people in need.
The Club donated an amount of R5 000 to Nozibusiso Foundation, which is based in KwaMbonambi. The organisation was also founded in 2019 by football journalist, Nozibusiso Sibiya. Nozibusiso Foundation seeks to empower rural children through sports and education and it aims to ensure that children have sufficient clothes. Nozibusiso, who is also the Director of the Foundation, stated that the contribution will help with transporting clothing donations for the children.
