The start of the new schooling year can be a very exciting time for learners, as they eagerly await meeting new friends and teachers, and learning new things. For parents, the new schooling year can bring about added stress and worry regarding the purchasing of much-needed school items. Uniforms, shoes and stationery supplies are considered staple requirements for learners, and many parents find it difficult to buy these items after the festive season.
Through the Back to School campaign, the Black Coffee Foundation and the Hollywood Foundation visited Mzimvubu Primary School and Zimele High School in the Eastern Cape, to contribute uniforms and shoes. Together with the Black Coffee Foundation, the Purple Team embarked on their second set of handovers that focussed on giving back to underprivileged schools, and empowering learners in 2023. The team received a warm welcome from the teachers and learners, who were excited to hear a few motivational words and encouragement.
