Queen LaMbokazi Foundation receives a backing from the Hollywood Foundation through the Back to School campaign

The Hollywood Foundation is intensifying its Back to School campaign with more handovers taking place. In November, the Team kicked off the campaign with the Black Coffee Foundation in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. On Sunday, the Team travelled to Mawewe Royal House in Mgobodzi, Mpumalanga, where they handed over school uniforms and shoes to the Queen LaMbokazi Foundation.  

The campaign involves the distribution of school supplies, such as shoes, uniforms and stationery for learners in various disadvantaged school across the country.

In Mpumalanga, the Team was welcomed by Queen LaMbokazi and Princess Sihle, and they had a wonderful time as they witnessed the community in high spirit with traditional song and dance.

The Hollywood Foundation has partnered with the Queen LaMbokazi Foundation to ensure that learners in the rural areas of Mpumalanga are provided with the necessary supplies for the 2023 school year. The foundations also affirmed its commitment as an organisation that cares for the needs of the community that it serves with this Back to School campaign.

Hollywood Foundation Group Transformation Manager, Babongile Mkhize, who was also present at the event was honoured to be dressed in traditional Swazi attire. She had an opportunity to engage the community about the Hollywood Foundation and the campaigns that are empowering the nation. She said that she hopes that this contribution of school uniforms and shoes will ease the burden of struggling parents.

“As the organisation that cares, we would like to assist wherever we can, which is why we will be making a contribution of R 300 000 to the LaMbokazi Foundation as part of our CSI initiative for any community in need that would be chosen by the Queen to benefit. We hope this partnership will be a fruitful one.”

Speaking during the event, Queen LaMbokazi expressed her gratitude to the Purple Team for the meaningful contribution and said it will be helpful to people in need.
