The Hollywood Foundation, through its My Sport pillar, continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to Sports Development by supporting grassroots rugby Teams across South Africa. As part of its ongoing CSI efforts, the Foundation partnered with the Hollywoodbets Sharks, the South African Rugby Legends Association (SARLA), and local leadership to hand over brand-new rugby equipment and playing kits to four community Teams in the Inanda and Mandeni areas in KwaZulu-Natal.

On 21 May 2025, Izinkunzi RC received their gear from the Hollywood Foundation, accompanied by Sharks player Trevor Nyakane. “This is a game-changer for us,” said a Bonakele Dlamini, Club Representative. “Thanks to this CSI contribution, our players can now train and compete with pride, which will help us grow rugby in our community.”
The following day, Mzinyathi Ministries RC was visited by the Foundation Team, Sharks player Fez Mbatha and SARLA representatives. “Our Team has been working with limited resources for years,” shared their Spokesperson. “The Hollywood Foundation’s Sports Development support will help us nurture young talent and keep our players motivated.”
On 23 May 2025, excitement filled Eskhululiwe Primary School as the beloved Sharks mascot, Sharky, delivered their new kits and equipment. Club Manager, Miss Cebile Mdima noted, “This CSI initiative gives our learners the opportunity to develop rugby skills from a young age, which is key to building and sustaining the sport in our community.”
The final handover on 24 May 2025 saw Ushaka Warriors RC receiving their support from Hollywood Foundation and Mandeni Mayor Thabani Mdlalose. Club Chairperson, Bukhosi Mndaweni said, “This Sports Development investment means our community can take rugby to the next level, we are grateful to the Hollywood Foundation for believing in us.”
Through these handovers, the Hollywood Foundation continues to use sport as a powerful tool for community upliftment, fostering unity, talent development, and hope for the future.
