In the heart of Mossel Bay, where compassion meets dedication, the Mossel Bay Community Soup Drive has been a beacon of hope since its establishment in 2022. This non-profit organisation, dedicated to providing weekly meals to those in need in the Highway Park area of KwaNonqaba, has recently received a transformative boost through the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI initiative.
The Hollywood Foundation, renowned for uplifting communities one organisation at a time, recognised the impactful work of the Mossel Bay Community Soup Drive. This acknowledgement led to a beautiful collaboration that unfolded on 21 December 2023. The Hollywood Foundation team, hand in hand with the Mossel Bay team, visited the organisation with a mission to make a lasting difference through their CSI programme.
The Hollywood Foundation team arrived at the Mossel Bay Community Soup Drive with essential supplies consisting of a water tank, building equipment, and gardening tools. As part of the Foundation’s CSI initiative, these items were all essential elements to empower the organisation to expand its reach and impact.
William Sam, the dedicated Coordinator at Mossel Bay Community Soup Drive, expressed his gratitude for the Hollywood Foundation’s profound contribution. “We are grateful to the Hollywood Foundation for the CSI contribution. With the provided water tank, building equipment, and gardening tools, we will now be able to grow and maintain our own community vegetable garden,” shared William, his eyes reflecting the hope that this assistance has brought to their mission.
The ripple effect of this CSI initiative is profound. Beyond the tangible contributions, the Hollywood Foundation has sown the seeds of sustainability and self-sufficiency in the Mossel Bay Community Soup Drive. The community vegetable garden, made possible through this collaborative effort, symbolises the growth of a resilient community, fostered by the warmth of compassion and the Hollywood Foundation’s commitment to making a meaningful impact.
