The festive season brings about much joy and happiness to many families around the world. For some, this includes gifts and delicious meals with loved ones. The reality is that some families consider this to be a very stressful and difficult time, due to many challenges. They long to give their children a festive season that they will enjoy and remember for years to come. For this reason, the Hollywood Foundation was proud to join forces with Expro and Rotary Club this year, for the Toys for Joy campaign. The aim of this campaign was to collect toys for a disadvantaged community in Durban, to brighten their December.
In November, Hollywoodbets sponsored the Toys for Joy handover lunch at Greyville Racecourse. The lunch included representatives from Rotary Club and Expro. The toys that were collected at this event were handed over to Rotary Club, and they were mindful of children at St John’s Church in Mount Moriah, Durban, who needed a helping hand. On 08 December 2022, the three non-profit organisations hosted a Christmas party at the church, and included entertainment for the children, such as face painting, colouring, song and dance items, as well as special appearances from Santa and Nkanyezi. Bishop Sibisi welcomed the team and thanked Hollywood Foundation, Expro and Rotary Club for their contribution and touching the lives of community members.
