Through a CSI initiative, the Hollywood Foundation was able to assist a non-profit organisation that is doing great work to empower and uplift women. Gender-Based Violence is a reality in South Africa, and a common occurrence for many women and children on a daily basis. Sisters Incorporated, which is based in Kenilworth, is comprised of hardworking staff members who go above and beyond to assist women and children who are in need. The organisation was happy to hear that they will be receiving support from the Purple Team in November.

Since 1959, Sisters Incorporated has evolved from being a refuge for single mothers, into a safe haven. The organisation now cares for survivors of domestic violence and interpersonal abuse, and one of their major goals is to offer ethically sound services to women and their children. The Manager of Sisters Incorporated, Delene Roberts, explained that her laptop broke which made it difficult for her to work. As part of a CSI project, the Team from Lansdowne was proud to hand over a laptop and office chairs to the organisation.

Delene extended her heartful gratitude to the Hollywood Foundation for making a much-needed difference within the organisation and said that the contribution will allow the staff to become more productive and efficient, which will enable more women and children to receive help.
