Amstelhof Football Club was formed in 2016, and it is comprised of two teams. There are 40 players in total, who practice twice a week at Paulus Joubert Secondary School. The club was formed to give the players a second chance at life, and to prevent them from engaging in acts of gangsterism. One of the club’s proudest moments was winning the winter league in 2018.
The Hollywood Foundation is continuing to transform the lives of developing sports teams across the country. This is in line with one of its major pillars, sports development. The Team from Paarl was proud to hand over brand-new soccer kits for the players to use on 28 February 2022. The Manager of Amstelhof Football Club, Matthew Thomas, thanked the Team for the contribution, and said that new kits will help to take a lot of financial pressure off the club in the new year.
