The Hollywood Foundation was happy to celebrate the day of love by showing some love in turn to teachers at Bright Future Special School in Newlands. The school has a special place in its heart for children with special needs, and it has been assisting these children since 1993. Having already assisted the school through the Back to School campaign earlier this year, the Team at HUTS considered it to be a privilege to visit the school again and show some appreciation to the school’s hardworking teachers.
The Team visited a florist and a Woolworths store to personally purchase single roses and chocolates for the teachers at the school. The Team was then greeted to big smiles and cheerful moods as they visited the school, and received a warm welcome from the Principal, Mr Nkosi. Mr Nkosi was thrilled to once again welcome the Team, and he commended the kind gesture of handing over roses and chocolates to his hardworking and patient staff. The Team were then treated to a special programme at the school’s assembly, where the small gifts were handed over to the teachers. The teachers were happy to pose for pictures and chat to the Team, as they celebrated Valentine’s Day with that extra bit of love and appreciation.
Rasigan Naidoo, the CSI Manager at the Hollywood Foundation, said, “We were fortunate enough to have visited the school at the start of the year through the Back to School campaign, and we were impressed with the patience and humility of these teachers, who go the extra mile on a daily basis to teach these children. It was a joy to visit the school again for Valentine’s Day, to give the teachers the beautiful roses and chocolates, as a thank you for their hard work every day.”
