Hollywoodbets and Phaka, paid a visit to Ithembelihle High School as part of their community work around rugby.
A donation was made to the Ithembelihle High School, and items included: a full playing kit, rugby socks, contact shields, first aid kits, tackle bags, tracksuits, ball pumps, rugby balls and rugby boots.
The school was nominated as a beneficiary by SuperSport Xhosa Rugby commentator, and KWARU rugby legend, Makhaya Jack. “Sir Jack,” as he is fondly known by his co-commentators, was extremely grateful for the work being done by Hollywoodbets towards rugby development at the grassroots level.
“Hollywoodbets’ overall generosity in sports genuinely hasn’t gone unnoticed. We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for this wonderful and immeasurable support. A million thanks to Hollywoodbets, and may we intensify this partnership in the future,” said Makhaya.
The School’s Rugby Programme was first established in 1963 and has since been fulfilling the need for school sports amongst the New Brighton community. Theo Pieterse, Coach of the Club, explained how much this donation is going to help with the improvement of the players.
“Our Ithembelihle High School players were in need of rugby boots and tracksuits. Previously, we would have to go to games wearing school uniforms, and we had to borrow equipment from other teams. Now, thanks to the donation from Hollywoodbets and Phaka, the players will look smart when we play games, and the training equipment will help us when we practise,” he said.
