Hollywoodbets continued to support Southern African football after taking up the role of Presenting Sponsors of the 2020 COSAFA Women’s Championship as well as Associate Sponsors of the Men’s Under-20 Championship.

Hollywoodbets have already made a valuable contribution to football in the region after acting as Associate Sponsors for the Men’s COSAFA Cup and Women’s Championship in 2019.

Both competitions were a roaring success and so we returned in 2020 to renew our commitment to the development of football in Southern Africa. “We are delighted by Hollywoodbets’ decision to continue the relationship that started in 2019, and particularly their support for the women’s game,” COSAFA President Dr Phillip Chiyangwa says.

“All too few corporates are presently involved with women’s football, despite the evolution over the past few years and the great strides made by the teams across the Region.  We encourage other corporates to follow suit. Thank-you Hollywoodbets for your support.”

The 2019 COSAFA Men’s Cup hosted in Durban was a massive success, with Zambia going on to win the competition.

For Hollywoodbets, the tournaments provide an excellent opportunity to give back to the game in a region brimming with talent and potential. “Hollywoodbets is committed to supporting sport, specifically soccer and its development on the African continent,” said Sandisiwe Bhengu, Hollywoodbets Operations Executive.

“In 2019, we were Affiliate Sponsors for the women’s senior competition, and this year we are honoured to be the newly-appointed Presenting Rights Sponsor of the COSAFA Women’s Championship, and for the opportunity to participate in the recognition and empowerment of women in sport.

“We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with COSAFA, and future growth within the soccer industry.”
