Lowe Primary School receives Back to School aid for those in need.

Lowe Primary School opened its doors to eager learners in 1956. The school is based in Senne Street and is comprised of learners who come from predominantly disadvantaged areas in the region. News that the school will be benefitting from the Hollywood Foundation’s Back to School campaign this year was met with excitement and happiness from teachers, learners and parents.

The school seeks to develop the skills and abilities of the learners through classroom activities, as well as extra-curricular activities such as athletics. The school has opened up about the various challenges that learners have to face, including living with parents who are unemployed and are unable to purchase school supplies. The Hollywood Foundation has implemented the Back to School campaign for this specific reason: to be a lifeline and ease the pressure off parents who want the best education for their children. The Team from Gauteng was proud to visit the school on 19 January 2022, to hand over boxes of brand-new school shoes for the learners.

Mmutle Motau, a representative for Lowe Primary School, said that the contribution will greatly assist learners who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and added that the campaign is a good initiative that can transform lives.
