It’s Back to School with the Hollywood Foundation and Shimuzic Foundation! Using the Back to School campaign, the two organisations formed a meaningful partnership in January to assist vulnerable and underprivileged children in Gauteng, at the start of the new academic year.
Shimuzic Foundation, which was founded by DJ Shimza, was established in 2016 and it is based in Tembisa. The organisation was excited and happy to partner with the Hollywood Foundation to make a positive change in the lives of children. Each year, Shimuzic Foundation makes the attempt to hand over school shoes to the less privileged. This year, Shimuzic Foundation was proud to partner with Bathu, to contribute brand-new boxes of school shoes to needy children in Gauteng.
Malenah Bapela, the Chief Operations Officer for Shimuzic Foundation, explained, “With what we see in the streets, and on the ground, is kids with school shoes which are torn and not in the best condition. No child should go to school, suffer to get to school or be teased by wearing shoes that are not of standard. It makes a big difference when a child goes to school with new school shoes.”
Bapela also thanked the Hollywood Foundation for implementing this life-changing initiative for children, and said, “We are very grateful to the Team and brand for keeping the dream of still giving away school shoes for kids around Gauteng.”
