The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programmes continue to touch the lives of people daily. As a Foundation that highlights the importance of community upliftment and providing sustainable development tools, it is important to be part of advocating for a greener, more sustainable future. By investing in organisations like Nature Connect Trust, the Foundation is making a difference in our communities and contributing to caring for our planet’s precious ecosystems.
Nature Connect Trust was established in 2001 and caters to an estimate of 2 000 beneficiaries. This organisation has played an important role in the preservation of South Africa’s rich natural heritage. With a focus on outdoor education, training for the green economy, and support for biodiversity networks, Nature Connect Trust embodies a commitment to sustainability and conservation.
On 18 March 2024, the Hollywood Foundation and its Purple Team journeyed to Westlake in the Western Cape, to extend a hand of support to Nature Connect Trust, through its CSI initiative. Recognising the critical role this organisation plays in environmental education and conservation, the Foundation made a substantial contribution of essential equipment and supplies such as a microscope, mini SASS kit, Mecer tablet, storage box and printer to assist with the day-to-day running of the organisation’s programmes. This gesture will ensure that more people have access to important information about the environment.
Tammy-Lee Solomons, the Day Programme Coordinator at Nature Connect Trust, expressed profound gratitude for the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI contributions. “These resources will greatly enhance and enrich the practical activities and lessons we run with groups,” she remarked. Through this partnership, Nature Connect Trust will be empowered to deliver even more impactful programmes, educating youth about the importance of protecting biodiversity and fostering sustainable living practices.
