The Hollywood Foundation continues to be a beacon of light in communities all over South Africa through its robust CSI initiatives. The Foundation’s commitment to making a tangible difference is evident in its unwavering support for those in need, with a special focus on children and young people. Ensuring that children receive education in a conducive environment is at the heart of the Hollywood Foundation’s mission, allowing students from underprivileged communities to thrive academically and socially.
On the 5th of March 2024, Thabane High School in Kimberly, Northern Cape, became one of the fortunate beneficiaries of the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI efforts. The school, established in 1979, had seen little maintenance over the years, and its appearance was in dire need of improvement. The Hollywood Foundation Team visited the school, bringing a much-needed contribution of paint and building supplies to give the school a fresh and vibrant facelift. This gesture was aimed at creating an environment that inspires and motivates both students and staff.
Veronica Mopu, the Deputy Principal at Thabane High School, expressed profound gratitude for the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI initiative. “As a no-fee school, we rely on the small stipend that comes from the government. We are very thankful to the Hollywood Foundation for the contribution. This will help enhance the appearance of the school and inspire confidence in the children and staff,” she said.
The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI initiatives extend beyond mere tangible contributions; they represent a commitment to uplifting communities and creating opportunities for growth and development. By supporting schools like Thabane High, the Hollywood Foundation ensures that students receive their education in a positive and conducive environment, laying the groundwork for a brighter future. The revitalisation of Thabane High School stands as a testament to the powerful impact that dedicated CSI efforts can have on communities in need.
