The Hollywood Foundation’s commitment to community development through its CSI programme, continues to make a profound impact in communities all around South Africa. Their recent initiative shines a light on this dedication, demonstrated by a generous contribution to United FC, a soccer club based in Amanzimtoti. Established in 2015, United FC has been a pillar of hope and unity within the community, nurturing talent and instilling sportsmanship in its 72 players.
However, despite their unwavering efforts, the club has struggled with inadequate soccer kits, leaving their existing gear in poor condition and limiting their ability to fully support their players.
In a heart-warming gesture of support, the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programme stepped in to provide United FC with a complete set of new soccer kits. The Park branch Team reached out to the Club and nominated them to receive this much-needed assistance. The handover event, held on the 4th of June 2024, was a significant occasion for the Club. The Hollywood Foundation Team, together with the Park Branch Team, visited United FC and was greeted with overwhelming excitement and gratitude from players and staff. This event not only emphasised the crucial role of sports in community development but also highlighted the substantial impact of CSI programmes in supporting local initiatives.
Mdu Mthethwa, a representative from United FC, expressed his heartfelt appreciation: “Wow! We are grateful for this contribution. It will really make our players explode with confidence when playing.” His words capture the essence of the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI efforts, reflecting how their support transforms lives and strengthens community ties. The new kits are poised to invigorate the Team, enhancing their performance on the field and uplifting their morale. This contribution is a powerful example of how strategic CSI initiatives can foster positive change and unity within communities, reinforcing the Hollywood Foundation’s role as a catalyst for social change.
