On 21 May 2024, the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programme made a significant impact at the Sky Blues Netball Club, a community-based organisation dedicated to uplifting young girls through sports. The Stanger Branch, recognising the need, nominated the Sky Blues for a crucial contribution. The Hollywood Foundation Team, committed to the values of their CSI programme, visited the club to deliver a new netball kit and essential equipment.
The Sky Blues Netball Club, established in 2022, has been a beacon of hope for young girls in the community. With 50 players divided into two sides, the club provides daily practice sessions, aiming to steer the girls away from the bad influences around them, ensuring that these young girls have a chance to better their lives. Despite its success and positive influence, the club faced challenges due to a lack of funding and inadequate equipment. The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programme stepped in at a pivotal moment, offering much-needed support to help the club continue its invaluable work in the community.
Coach Fikisiwe Cele expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating, “We are incredibly thankful to the Hollywood Foundation and their CSI programme for their generous contribution. This new netball kit and equipment will boost the morale of our players and help us maintain the high standards of training we strive for. Your support is a game-changer for us and will have a lasting impact on our community.”
The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI initiative is dedicated to making a difference in communities by supporting grassroots sports. The contribution to the Sky Blues Netball Club exemplifies the Foundation’s commitment to enhancing lives through sports development. As the club continues to thrive, the support from the CSI programme serves as a testament to the Hollywood Foundation’s role in nurturing young talent and promoting positive social change in South African communities.
