The Hollywood Foundation, committed to fostering sports development in South African communities through their CSI initiatives, has made a significant impact on the lives of young athletes. One such inspiring tale originates from the Dream Team, a local organisation established in 2006 to address social challenges hindering youth development. Comprising three Teams and 41 players, the Dream Team faced hurdles, including outdated jerseys that could not accommodate all players.
Striving to overcome these obstacles, the Purple Team at the Pietermaritz Street branch, took the initiative to nominate Dream Team for support through the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI programme. Recognising the club’s potential and dedication, the Foundation swiftly responded, leading to a transformative moment on April 14, 2024. Representatives from both Pietermaritz Street branch and the Hollywood Foundation converged at the club with a generous contribution of new kits and equipment, sparking immense joy within the community.
Bhekithemba, a proud representative of Dream Team, expressed heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI contribution as a game-changer. “We are grateful to the Hollywood Foundation for their CSI contribution,” Bhekithemba remarked. “With their support, we can now play two matches a day because we have enough kits for all our players.” This newfound capacity not only boosts their morale but also amplifies their ability to participate more actively in competitions, thus nurturing young talent and fostering a sense of pride within the community.
