The Hollywood Foundation continues to play a significant role in the growth and development of grassroot sports in South African communities through its CSI initiatives. In a heart-warming display of commitment to grassroots sports, Stonebridge branch Team identified Nhlungwane FC as one of the organisations which could greatly benefit from this amazing initiative.
On 4 June 2024, the Stonebridge branch Team and the Hollywood Foundation Team visited Nhlungwane FC, to handover the much-needed contribution. This visit marked a special moment as the club received brand new soccer kits for the players, providing a boost to their resources.
Nhlungwane FC, established in 2009, has grown substantially over the years, now boasting 120 players across various divisions. The club has been a cornerstone in its community, fostering young talent and promoting sportsmanship. The CSI initiative by the Hollywood Foundation has been instrumental in supporting such grassroots organisations, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to thrive.
During the handover ceremony, the atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude. N.W. Gumede, a representative from Nhlungwane FC, expressed his heartfelt thanks, stating, “We are incredibly grateful for this generous contribution from the Hollywood Foundation. Your CSI initiative has provided us with essential soccer kits and has also renewed our enthusiasm and commitment to nurturing young talent in our community.”
