The Hollywood Foundation will again be involved in rugby development at a grassroots level as the title sponsor of the upcoming Hollywood Foundation iQhawe week in Johannesburg.
The tournament is run by the SA Rugby Legends Association (SARLA), in association with Vuka Rugby, and will target U15 boys and girls in an effort to teach them both life lessons and rugby skills. SARLA has been instrumental in rugby development in South Africa for over 20 years and continues to make a difference in the country.
There will be 14 boys’ teams comprised of players from the Western Province, Boland, South Western Districts, Eastern Province, Border, KwaZulu Natal, Griquas, Free State, Griffons, Leopards, Lions, Falcons, Blue Bulls and Pumas Rugby Unions respectively. The four girls’ teams will come from the Lions, Blue Bulls and Falcons Rugby Unions, and include a Gauteng Invitation side.
SARLA have announced that a scholarship program will be in place to reward the Player of the Week, while several high school scouts will also be in attendance and on the lookout for talented individuals.
All games will be broadcasted live via the SuperSport Schools app, and the rest of the content will be available on SARLA’s TV show on SuperSport.
