Lukhanyo Urban Farming Network (Pty) Ltd is a community garden that was established in Site C, Khayelitsha, in 2014. The network was initially comprised of 12 enthusiastic and committed gardeners, who saw the community garden as their only source of income. The business also takes an active interest in developing the skills and talents of young farmers. The gardeners have put in lots of hard work and long hours to ensure that the sandy soil is maintained and easy to grow organic vegetables. The community garden currently operates within Itlanganiso Secondary School, and it seeks to empower the learners from the school who have a passion for farming. Through Abalimi Bezekhaya, a non-profit urban farming organisation, Lukhanyo Urban Farming Network applied for assistance from the Hollywood Foundation regarding the construction of a high concrete wall around the community garden. The Hollywood Foundation was happy to assist, to allow this SMME an opportunity to extend its business and feel a sense of security. The Team was also proud to contribute branding for the businesses.

Jeremy Jones, the Owner of Lukhanyo Urban Farming Network, said that he was delighted to hear the news that the Hollywood Foundation will be assisting his business. He added that the construction of the wall will help the business to produce more vegetables, which in turn, will contribute towards nutritional programmes in the school.
