The Hollywood Foundation proudly continues its commitment to uplifting and empowering communities through its CSI initiatives. On 11 July 2025, the Foundation extended its support to Ostomate KZN, a non-profit organisation dedicated to assisting individuals living with a stoma. As part of its ongoing CSI efforts, the Foundation officially handed over a contribution towards the organisation’s upcoming Ostomy 5KM Charity Fun Walk, an event aimed at raising awareness and building a supportive network for ostomates across KwaZulu-Natal.
Ostomate KZN was established in January 2024 by Ms. Thobile Zondi, who has lived with a permanent stoma since 1994. Her personal experience, coupled with the lack of public awareness and emotional support, motivated her to launch the organisation. Her vision aligns with the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI mission to empower communities and amplify unheard voices. Through Ostomate KZN, Ms. Zondi aims to break the silence surrounding the stoma community and offer the support she wished she had during her journey.
The organisation offers a wide range of CSI-aligned services including hospital outreach programmes, community awareness workshops, stoma support groups, and trauma counselling. These services are designed to help individuals, and their families navigate the physical, psychological, and emotional challenges associated with living with a stoma. Ostomate KZN is fostering a compassionate and informed community where ostomates feel acknowledged, supported, and empowered.
The Hollywood Foundation’s CSI contribution will play a vital role in the successful hosting of the Ostomy 5KM Charity Fun Walk, which is more than a wellness event, but serves as a platform to drive awareness, inspire open dialogue, and celebrate resilience within the stoma community.
Ms. Zondi expressed her gratitude, saying, “We are truly thankful for this CSI-driven support. With partners like the Hollywood Foundation, we can reach more people, offer more support, and continue breaking barriers in the stoma community.”
