The Hollywood Foundation remains committed to its mission of uplifting communities through impactful CSI projects and targeted Sports Development through its “My Sport” pillar. By providing vital resources to grassroots clubs, the Foundation helps create opportunities for young talent to grow, thrive, and dream beyond their circumstances. On 29 July 2025, this commitment was once again brought to life through the handover of soccer kits and equipment to Classic United Football Club.
Nominated by the Hollywoodbets Richards Bay branch, Classic United Football Club was established in 2015 with the goal of keeping the youth away from substance abuse while providing a safe and structured environment. The Club currently has three Teams – under 15, under 17, and under 21 – with a total of 60 players. Its proudest achievement to date is winning the under 13 Build It Tournament in 2018. Over the years, their Sports Development efforts have borne fruit, with three of their players going on to compete in the prestigious Diski Challenge.\
Before receiving the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI support, Classic United faced significant challenges in acquiring proper training equipment. Limited resources often meant players struggled to train effectively, which impacted match readiness and skill development. The new soccer kits and equipment will allow the Club to improve the quality of training sessions and give every player the tools they need to succeed.
Speaking at the handover, Club Coach Patrick Sanele Dube said: “This contribution will help the club produce more good players. It will inspire our Teams to train harder and aim higher.” By investing in clubs like Classic United, the Hollywood Foundation continues to use Sports Development as a powerful vehicle for community upliftment, ensuring that talented young players have a real chance to build brighter futures.
