The Hollywood Foundation remains committed to uplifting communities through its dedicated Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives, delivered under various pillars such as My Community, My Business, and My Sports. Through the My Sports pillar, the Foundation focuses on Sports Development at grassroots and community level, ensuring that youth across South Africa are given the tools, platforms, and support they need to reach their full potential.
On 3 July 2025, the Hollywood Foundation, in partnership with the Hollywoodbets Malvern Branch, proudly handed over brand-new soccer kits and equipment to Durban Spur FC. This meaningful CSI contribution forms part of the Foundation’s mission to drive Sports Development and create positive, long-term impact through sport.
Durban Spur FC was established in 2016 by Thabo Sishangane and like-minded individuals, who were inspired to create a safe and purposeful alternative for youth exposed to drugs and negative influences in the community. “We started this Team because we saw too many young people heading in the wrong direction,” said Thabo. “We wanted to be part of the solution, and football became that solution.”
Today, the Club boasts a growing number of dedicated players and has already seen incredible results, with one of their own currently playing for AmaZulu FC’s First Team. This is a true testament to the power of sport and community investment.
Previously, the Team had to borrow soccer balls on match days, and their U13 squad lacked a proper kit. This CSI support will enhance Team morale, improve performance, and strengthen the Club’s ability to recruit and retain young players, which is a vital aspect of sustainable Sports Development.
“This contribution means everything to us,” said Club Manager Thabo Sishangane.
“We now feel equipped, supported, and motivated to do more for our players. Thank you to the Hollywood Foundation and Malvern Branch for backing our vision.”
