The Hollywood Foundation has been assisting various non-profit organisations throughout the country this year. Through various CSI programmes, the Team have been making a positive impact in many communities, through meaningful initiatives. In November, the iBranch Team in Mpumalanga identified Nhlengelo Home-Based Care as an organisation that required help, and the Purple Team was happy to step up to assist.
Nhlengelo Home-Based Care opened its doors in 2002, and it primarily cares for orphans and vulnerable children. The founders of this organisation formed it due to the increase of HIV and AIDS within the community. As part of its many functions, the organisation offers a feeding scheme, five days a week. The organisation has a goal to educate these individuals to hopefully become future leaders of South Africa. As part of their CSI initiative, the Hollywood Foundation was proud to contribute much-needed items to assist with the feeding scheme, such as a gas stove, a deep freezer and a fridge.
MN Muvela, the Manager of Nhlengelo Home-Based Care, thanked the Hollywood Foundation for their generosity, and added that the items will allow the organisation to expand their services to reach more children in the future.
