The elderly are vulnerable and are often considered the backbone of society due to their years of experience. As they grow older, they require more love, care and support, and are often dependent on other individuals and facilities. With welfare being a focus area for the Hollywood Foundation, the iBranch Team from Limpopo was proud to extend a helping hand to Mogalakwena Hospice and Rehabilitation Centre in November, through a CSI initiative.
Mogalakwena Hospice and Rehabilitation Centre was formed in 2016, and it is a residential facility that cares for the elderly. The centre was established due to the love that the community has for the elderly. Like many other non-profit organisations, the staff at this centre face struggles on a daily basis, such as a lack of essential equipment. The founders of the centre have a goal that is very close to their hearts, which is a bigger building that will be able to accommodate more people in the future. On 02 November 2022, the Team embarked on a CSI project and paid a friendly visit to the centre, to contribute mattresses and wheelchairs for the elderly to use.
A representative from Mogalakwena Hospice and Rehabilitation Centre thanked the Purple Team for their assistance and said that the items will have a great impact on the many people who seek refuge at the establishment.
