Mofolo Home-Based Care
Since 2001, this care centre has been providing services to the vulnerable community members of Soweto. This includes ensuring that the elderly have sufficient activities to keep them busy like sewing and gardening, a feeding programme for 118 children four times a week and home-based care visits to community members in need of assistance with medication. Some of these beneficiaries are disabled and therefore rely heavily on the assistance of the staff at Mofolo.
The Hollywoodbets Team from Soweto received a donation request from the centre asking them for assistance within their community. The Team were happy to help because of the large impact that they have on the vulnerable community of Soweto. A donation consisting of a lawnmower, five tables, 18 chairs, three sewing machines, three rakes, four spades, three gardening forks and a printer was made to support their amazing work.
Gerald Lerobane, representative for the centre, was grateful to the Hollywoodbets Team for their generous support.
“These newly donated items will help us to improve our existing activities and programme that we are able to offer to our community members who are in need. We thank you for helping us in this way,” he said.
