Children are considered the future of society, and they all deserve the right to have a good quality education, and the necessary support and care. Homeless children are often overlooked in society, and there are many organisations across the country that seek to prioritise their wellbeing. Through many CSI initiatives, the Hollywood Foundation aims to make a meaningful difference and spread the message of hope to many vulnerable children within our community.
Khanani Drop-In Centre was established in 2019, and it cares for orphaned children by providing them with warm meals. Based in Mpumalanga, this organisation was formed due to the high number of homeless children that wander the streets. The organisation has many goals, including to ensure that these children have access to an education. Through a CSI project, the iBranch Team from Mpumalanga paid a special visit to the organisation, to hand over an array of items, such as a deep freezer, an urn, a gas stove and plates.
Rifumuni Mabiza, the Founder of Khanani Drop-In Centre, thanked the Hollywood Foundation for coming to their aid, and said that the items will help the staff to cook more food to feed more children in the future.
