Phambili Siyaya Arts feed families thanks to Hollywoodbets and Lighthouse Foundation’s Brighter Future Project

This organisation’s main focus is unearthing talent within the township communities in Sebokeng, and they have been doing so since 2011. At present they are focussing more on helping to address the urgent need of hunger that is being experienced by many South Africans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading South African bookmaker Hollywoodbets donated the sum of R12 500 to assist them, resulting in food parcels being provided to 25 families in need!
Hollywoodbets has committed to making R1 million available to those who need it most through a joint effort being made by the Hollywoodbets My Community Programme and Nomzamo Mbatha’s Lighthouse Foundation. The “Brighter Future” project will ensure that 60 NPOs and NGOs across all nine South African provinces receive much-needed funding to help their beneficiaries weather the current storm the country is facing.
Chairman of Phambili Siyaya Arts, Themba Sithole, is grateful for the assistance.

“Hollywoodbets is helping us to help others in their time of need. Thanks to this donation we will be able to help alleviate poverty in this township community and struggling families will now have food to eat at a time where they are battling to survive,” he said.

Hollywoodbets chose to assist this particular organisation because they truly believe in the work they do. “The foundation is well-known in this area for the wonderful work they do within communities that are poverty-stricken and where people struggle to survive because they don’t have jobs. We were aware of the fact that they provide food parcels to child-headed households on a monthly basis so we felt that it was the right thing to come alongside them at this time when they need our help most and it was a pleasure to do so,” said Lorraine Tshabalala, Hollywoodbets Area Manager for Gauteng.
