Through its dedicated “My Sport” Sports Development programme, the Hollywood Foundation continues to level the playing field for local sports Teams by providing much-needed resources. On 15 July 2025, the Foundation proudly handed over a complete soccer kit and equipment to the Mandlo Golden Arrows Football Club, helping them gear up for future success. By supporting grassroots football, the Foundation aims to nurture raw talent, encourage discipline, and create opportunities that extend far beyond the pitch.
The handover took place after the Club was nominated by the Hollywoodbets Bluff branch. Mandlo Golden Arrows consists of four Teams, under 15, under 17, under 19, and a senior Team, with a total of 35 beneficiaries. The Club was established to give young players the opportunity to showcase their skills, keep active, and be steered away from negative influences that can sometimes be found in the township in which they live. Their proudest moment came in 2023 when they won the Mzimela and One Foundation Tournament, securing gold medals and a new kit for their senior side. Over the years, several of their players have been promoted to higher leagues, highlighting the value of Sports Development in the community.
Before receiving assistance from the Hollywood Foundation’s “My Sport” Sports Development programme, the Club faced challenges in securing quality kits and training equipment. Players often had to train with mismatched or borrowed gear, which sometimes limited their confidence on the field. The new support is set to change that.
Speaking at the handover, Club Representative Nkosingiphile Uthman Mbambo said: “This contribution will have a huge impact on the Team. It will motivate our players, improve our training, and give us the confidence to compete at a higher level.” The Hollywood Foundation remains committed to empowering community clubs like Mandlo Golden Arrows through Sports Development.
