On October 10, 2024, the Hollywood Foundation proudly joined the KZN Children’s Hospital Trust to commemorate World Mental Health Day. This occasion highlighted the ongoing need for mental health awareness and celebrated the impactful contributions made over the past year, particularly the Foundation’s significant R10 million investment in the hospital’s renovation. This year, we reflected on the establishment of a state-of-the-art 15-bed Mental Health ward, specifically designed for adolescent girls with neurological conditions, marking a critical milestone in Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives.
As we gathered to honour the achievements and hear from mental health professionals, the Honourable Premier of KZN, Thami Ntuli, emphasised the urgent need for comprehensive mental health care. His words resonated deeply with our commitment to CSI, showcasing how essential it is to address the mental health needs of our youth. The on-going renovations of the new ward has become a beacon of hope for many families who are eager for their vulnerable adolescents to receive the specialised care they deserve in a nurturing environment.
