The Hollywood Foundation continues to make significant strides in community development through its dedicated CSI programme. Committed to fostering the growth of sports in local communities, the Foundation ensures that budding sports talents are not hindered by the lack of funding and resources. This initiative is centred around uplifting the community and its youth, securing a brighter future for sports in the country.
Sports play a crucial role in addressing social ills affecting young people, teaching them essential skills like teamwork and responsibility. Recognising this, the Hollywood Foundation, through its CSI efforts, has been pivotal in providing necessary sports equipment and support. In April 2024, the Foundation made a significant impact in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) by contributing rugby kits and equipment to grassroots rugby clubs, empowering young athletes to pursue their passion without limitations.
On 11 April 2024, the Hollywood Foundation Team visited Siripat Lions Rugby Club. Established in 1919, this club boasts three teams and 82 dedicated players. The CSI contribution of rugby kits and equipment was a game-changer for Siripat Lions RC, providing the young athletes with the tools they need to excel and develop their skills further. “This contribution from the Hollywood Foundation is invaluable. It will inspire our players to reach new heights,” said Deon Naicker, Siripat Lions RC Chairman.
The following day, 12 April 2024, saw the Hollywood Foundation Team at Eshowe Rugby Club. Since its inception in 1921, Eshowe RC has been a beacon for promoting rugby among women and juniors. The CSI initiative by the Foundation has bolstered the club’s resources, ensuring that both female and junior rugby players have the support and equipment necessary to thrive in their sporting endeavours. “We are incredibly grateful for this support. It will have a lasting impact on our club’s growth,” remarked Jotham Maduna, Eshowe RC Chairman.
Lastly, on 13 April 2024, Ogwini Rugby Club received a visit from the Hollywood Foundation. Established in 1999 and home to 50 players, Ogwini RC has long been a cornerstone of local rugby. The CSI contribution of kits and equipment provided by the Foundation will significantly enhance the club’s ability to nurture and develop young rugby talent. “The Hollywood Foundation’s generosity is a huge boost for us. It will help our players immensely,” expressed Ntso Mkhwanazi, Ogwini RC Chairman.
