East Side Football Club will be celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. The club was established in 2012 and is comprised of five teams. There are 75 players at the club and they enjoy practice sessions every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The club was formed to uplift the community in the Eastern Cape, and to respond to various social ills that affect many individuals in the region. The club has enjoyed many proud moments, such as winning a junior tournament in the Northern Areas league.
On 20 January 2022, the Hollywood Foundation was proud to hand over soccer kits for players at the club. The Team from Newton Park paid a friendly visit to the club to make this meaningful contribution.
