#HopeIsPower – SG Bakery

SG Bakery is a local and informal bakery, located in E-section in Umlazi, producing 100 to 120 loaves of bread per day. In June, Hollywoodbets reached out to assist the bakery and donated a 12-metre container with furniture, as the bakery was operating in a small, derelict shack.

As part of the #HopeIsPower campaign and following the recent looting and unrest, the Team from Hollywoodbets chose to assist the bakery again by donating equipment, such as a nine-tray deck oven, double door proofer and 15 bread pans, which will enable the bakery to continue producing bread for the community.

Siyanda Shabane, one of the owners of SG Bakery, explained that the equipment will enable the bakery to bake the bread at a faster pace.

“We are so thankful to Hollywoodbets for granting us this opportunity. May they continue doing the great work that they are doing in the community.”
