Be Seen. Be Heard. Be the CHANGE

Applications for Durban NPOs to join the CHANGE IN ACTION FAIR open on
19 August. Build your capacity, and present your work to the public and
potential funders with confidence and impact. Watch this space to apply!

Be part of Durban’s movement for change. Get training, tools & a platform to amplify your impact

Gateway Theatre of Shopping, the Hollywood Foundation, and Nation Builder (formerly We Are Durban) have once again joined forces to host the Change in Action Fair — a platform designed to equip Durban-based NPOs to strengthen their capacity, amplify their reach, and inspire lasting community impact.

Applications open on 19 August and close at midnight on 1 September 2025. Twenty NPOs from the Greater Durban area will be selected to embark on a capacity building journey that includes two Nation Builder-led workshops covering proposal writing, public engagement, and in-person presentability — all designed to help organisations confidently showcase their work to the public and potential funders.

Be part of Durban’s movement for change. Get training, tools & a platform to amplify your impact. The Hollywood Foundation will further equip each participating NPO with a full professional branding kit — including banners, branded clothing, and business cards-ensuring they have the tools to present their cause with professionalism and impact.

This journey will culminate on 25 October 2025, when Gateway Theatre of Shopping’s Cinema Level will transform into a vibrant exhibition space for the Change in Action Fair. The event offers the public an inspiring opportunity to discover local causes, spark partnerships, and see first-hand the power of collective action in addressing complex social challenges.

With over 3,500 registered NPOs in eThekwini, the potential for change is immense when organisations are equipped, connected, and visible. The Change in Action Fair is about breaking down barriers, raising awareness, and building collaborations that strengthen our communities for the long term.
