The Hollywood Foundation remains committed to creating meaningful change in communities through its CSI initiatives, with a strong focus on Sports Development. On 23 July 2025, the Foundation, in partnership with Hollywoodbets Argyle branch, proudly handed over a contribution of soccer kits and equipment to Molweni Ajax Academy, a grassroots football club, dedicated to nurturing young talent and creating safer communities through sport.
Molweni Ajax Academy, established in 2010, was born out of a need to combat the high levels of crime and substance abuse affecting the youth in the Molweni area. Through its Sports Development programmes, the Club provides a structured and positive outlet for over 120 young players. Their core mission is to identify, nurture, and develop football talent while also shaping disciplined and focused individuals. This aligns closely with the Hollywood Foundation’s CSI objective of investing in programmes that offer youth opportunities for growth and transformation.
The contribution of soccer kits and equipment is a significant investment in holistic development of these young players. The new gear will boost the players’ morale, improve their training experience, and support the Club’s efforts in maintaining professionalism and pride on the field. This CSI initiative plays a key role in creating an enabling environment where talent can thrive and future stars can be moulded.
Molweni Ajax Academy has had many proud moments, including promoting Under-17 players to their First Team and seeing others advance to external leagues. These achievements are a testament to the impact of grassroots Sports Development and the importance of continuous support.
Chairperson Bonsumusa Gwala expressed his gratitude, saying, “This CSI-driven support from the Hollywood Foundation helps us build dreams and keep our youth off the streets. It’s more than just football; it’s about changing lives.”
