National Soccer League – Janine van Wyk Football Club

Janine van Wyk Football Club (JVW FC) is based in Bedfordview and was established in 2012. The club has a junior structure and it comprises of 120 players who are between the ages of 7 to 13 years. The club was launched to help develop females into future professionals. JVW FC scored 16 goals during the Women’s Month campaign and earned R21 000.

JVW FC donated their earnings to Action Breaks Silence, which became a recognised non-profit organisation in 2017. The organisation aims to protect women from gender-based violence and seeks to implement interventions, which tackles sexual harassment and sexual violence. Lauren Duncan, the Project Manager at JVW FC, said that the contribution from the club will help Action Breaks Silence to uplift the community.
